Φέτος, το φεστιβάλ On Bodies πραγματοποιείται στις 27-30 Μαΐου με παραστάσεις, εργαστήρια και συζητήσεις που θα παρουσιαστούν στην κύρια σκηνή, αλλά και στον κήπο της Στέγης Χορού Λευκωσίας. Μέσα από το ανοικτό κάλεσμα η επιτροπή επέλεξε έργα από νέους και καταξιωμένους καλλιτέχνες με βάση την Κύπρο και το εξωτερικό, που προτείνουν διάφορες πτυχές, πρακτικές και αισθητικές του καλλιτεχνικού σώματος του χορού.

Στα πλαίσια του φεστιβάλ πέρα από τις παραστάσεις στις κατηγορίες Bodies on Stage και Bodies in the Garden, θα έχουμε το Future Bodies με σύντομες παρουσιάσεις/ομιλίες σχετικά με το μέλλον του χορού. Αυτή η παράλληλη δράση προέκυψε ως ανάγκη για περαιτέρω συζήτηση στο πως χτίζουμε/φανταζόμαστε την εξέλιξη του πεδίου, αλλά και μια συνέχεια των συζητήσεων και παρουσιάσεων που γίνονται τα τελευταία χρόνια από την κοινότητα και τους φορείς του χορού.

This year the On Bodies Festival takes place on the 27^th until 30^th of May with performances, workshops and discussions on the main stage as well as in the garden of Dance House Lefkosia. Through the open call, the committee selected works from upcoming and acclaimed artists based in Cyprus and abroad, that propose different aspects, practices and aesthetics of the artistic body of dance.

Part of the festival, apart from performances in the categories Bodies on Stage and Bodies in the Garden, we will have Future Bodies with short presentations/talks regarding the future of dance. This parallel event emerged as a need for further discussion on how to build/imagine the artistic field’s development but also as a continuation of the discussions and presentations that have happened the past years from the dance community and institutions.
