Dance House Lefkosia presents the performance Ordinary Magic, created in the framework of the program More Than Dancing. Through this educational initiative and the guidance of Maria Kamberis (dance educator, choreographer), Leontios Toumbouris (visual artist), and Natasa Hadjiandreou (musician), 16 teenagers aged 12-18 collaborated to create a performance on the theme of mental resilience, where dance, visual arts, and music coexist.

The adaptation to a constantly changing and evolving environment served as the inspiration for the design and implementation of the program. The main objective was to create a group of teenagers and involve them actively in the creative process during the production of the performance through exploration and experimentation. During the various phases of the program, we explored the theme through methods of deconstruction, reconstruction, and reformation to create form and patterns in movement, music, and scenography.

Transforming the adversities faced by teenagers in their everyday lives into challenges that can be managed, the performance Ordinary Magic was produced. It was based on the creation of a movement vocabulary through guided improvisation, the methodology of potentials and rules, the exploration of bodies during interaction for the creation of sculptural elements (props), and the composition of music based on techniques from contemporary classical music, interacting with the movement.
