ORI IRE by Yonly Desdunes

ORI IRE by Yonly Leyva Desdunes blends dance and music to evoke Yoruba spiritual concepts on destiny, blessings, and human growth. Drawing inspiration from his Cuban heritage, Yonly expresses the journey of life through seven phases: birth, struggle, fall, rebirth, illumination, union, and liberation. The performance celebrates rediscovery, reflection, and interconnectedness, inviting audiences to engage with their own paths. Conceived, choreographed, and performed by Yonly, with additional performance by Despina Violari and music by Yonly and Lambriani Kyprianou, ORI IRE is developed under the mentorship of Lia Haraki within the RELATE (REveaL – Art To Exchange) residency.
