Choreographer Viktor Szeri will be facilitating two workshops in Cyprus, leading up to the re-edition of his award-winning performance “Fatigue”, presented as part of the artistic program “Where the Sun Never Sets” in July 2024, curated by Dimitris Chimonas.
Szeri explains, “My creative processes are usually motivated by a desire to express a mood or a feeling. Dance always plays a crucial role in my work: it is a language through which the imperfect, transient, and vulnerable human body can break free of the constraints of social norms. I often work with improvisation, and I will share some of the exercises I used in my performances with you. During the workshop, we will explore the movement quality I used in my solo piece ‘Fatigue,’ through an improvisational exercise. In the workshop, we will observe the following questions: Where does our body’s capacity begin and end? What are its boundaries, its capacities, and how can we go beyond our limits?”
No stage experience is necessary to participate in this workshop.
